Favourite movie scenes to break the shackles off the boredom life

Well im not a movie buff to watch every potboiler kinda movies as you'd know by now. But I have some clear favourites that i've managed to stumble upon by chance.

Having said that there are some few moments that I like in most of the films that i watch quite ofttimes. May be thatz how i'd like to summarize the movie for it all depicts or rather limns some kind of a picture or fragments of life in its own way.

Some to motivate my spirits when im down (like Shawshank Redemption, Kungfu panda, The pursuit of happiness), SOme humble moments that makes us forget all the worldly traits (Cast away, motorcycle diaries,  Blind side, Forrest GUmp, Notebook, Saving private ryan), SOme moments  moments from some intriguing movies for inquisitive moments (A beautiful mind, WallE) , some irking moments got to be pacified with some nonchalant moments from some movies or rather to brake the shackles out of vetti life (Dil chachta hai, Chennai 28, Office Space) . SOme to relish and revel the sheer beauty or performance and Some to sober up my pensive mood (like when you are almost tipped off whining) like Enchanted. And ofcourse some loveable movies with some serious moments like titanic, a walk to remember, the notebook etc.,

I guess i could compile all those moments of gold into one big pile or rather make a movie out of it :)

Below are such moments from some of the films notwithstanding the following.

The Notebook

This is where Noah would take allie (Rachel Mcadams) for a ride and would give her a packet to feed the swans and she'd just ask him with that smile "What are they all doing here ?". The whole seen just as she says is like a dream (just around a minute). How can you not love her. I really love this scene to have watched over number of times (i've become her fan since then and following her movies till sherlock holmes :))

Shawshank Redemption

The whole move is somewhat close to me for i've leant every word uttered by red (Morgan Freeman). This is how i feel any ideal cast should be. neatly measured without overdoing anything

Some moments really stand-out like playing the Mozart opera song (The Marriage of Figaro) sung by two italian ladies and the moment is best explained through freeman's character red's words HD Video of the scene

"I have no idea to this day what those|two Italian ladies were singing about.
Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are best left unsaid.
I like to think it was something|so beautiful...it can't be expressed in words...
...and makes your heart ache|because of it.
I tell you, those voices soared... higher and farther than anybody|in a gray place dares to dream.
It was like a beautiful bird|flapped into our drab cage...and made those walls dissolve away.
And for the briefest of moments... every last man at Shawshank|felt free. "

Rocky Balboa IV

When he think of advising his son

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!Video of the scene from the movie

Pursuit of Happiness

Protect your dreams. Its such a scene that touches you way down to you your heart straight away. and it needs no prelude. Just wonderul words of motivation

I guess that most of us kind of feel down sometimes or rather low in spirits for whatever be the reason and it is natural... but it is good to know what makes us feel better and to believe in ourselves - a special movie, a song, writing or reading a book or a blog.

Now that i've told you a bit about my fav scenes in the movies, hang-on we'll see about the rest in due course.

21 Effective Quotation of Swami Vivekananda - Inspiring and Motivating

Got this compilation from somewhere forwarded by a friend. A wonderful compilation indeed. Thanks to AP

21 Effective Quotation of Swami Vivekananda

1.    If the mind is intensely eager, everything can be accomplished—mountains can be crumbled into atoms.
2.    Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
3.    Come out into the universe of Light. Everything in the universe is yours, stretch out your arms and embrace it with love. If you every felt you wanted to do that, you have felt God.
4.    All knowledge that the world has ever received comes from the mind; the infinite library of the universe is in our own mind.
5.    Stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders, and know that you are the creator of your own destiny. All the strength and succor you want is within yourself. Therefore make your own future.  6.    There is no help for you outside of yourself; you are the creator of the universe. Like the silkworm you have built a cocoon around yourself…. Burst your own cocoon and come out aw the beautiful butterfly, as the free soul. Then alone you will see Truth.
7.    It is our own mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us. Our thought make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light. First, believe in this world, that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves!
8.    Hold to the idea, “I am not the mind, I see that I am thinking, I am watching my mind act,” and each day the identification of yourself with thoughts and feelings will grow less, until at last you can entirely separate yourself from the mind and actually know it to be apart from yourself.
9.    All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore love for love’s sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.
10.     Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.
11.     Even the greatest fool can accomplish a task if it were after his or her heart. But the intelligent ones are those who can convert every work into one that suits their taste.
12.     Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers and let them go their own way.
13.     Each work has to pass through these stages—ridicule, opposition, and then acceptance. Those who think ahead of their time are sure to be misunderstood.
14.     If you think that you are bound, you remain bound; you make your own bondage. If you know that you are free, you are free this moment. This is knowledge, knowledge of freedom. Freedom is the goal of all nature.
15.     As long as we believe ourselves to be even the least different from God, fear remains with us; but when we know ourselves to be the One, fear goes; of what can we be afraid?
16.     Your Atman is the support of the universe—whose support do you stand in need of? Wait with patience and love and strength. If helpers are not ready now, they will come in time. Why should we be in a hurry? The real working force of all great work is in its almost unperceived beginnings.
17.     Learning and wisdom are superfluities, the surface glitter merely, but it is the heart that is the seat of all power. It is not in the brain but in the heart that the Atman, possessed of knowledge, power, and activity, has its seat.
18.     Understanding human nature is the highest knowledge, and only by knowing it can we know God? It is also a fact that the knowledge of God is the highest knowledge, and only by knowing God can we understand human nature
19.     Purity, patience, and perseverance are the three essentials to success and, above all, love.
20.     If you want to have life, you have to die every moment for it. Life and death are only different expressions of the same thing looked at from different standpoints; they are the falling and the rising of the same wave, and the two form one whole.
21.     Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship or psychic control or philosophy – by one or more or all of these and be free.

How to Find Your Life's Purpose

Millions of people have asked the question "Why am I here?" and "What is the purpose of this Life?" Here are some ways to find your purpose and passion in life and some guidance on how to live the answer to this age old questions.
A WikiHow article...
Steps
  • Make a list of the things you do for fun, or that you really enjoy. Include in the list the parts of your job that you really like, the things you volunteer for, sports, the arts, reading, etc. Imagine you're a billionaire with no worries about money, how would you choose to spend your time? Add those things to the list, even if you don't do them now. This list is of your passions; the things that you love to do, or would do simply for the pleasure they bring you.
  • Write down the names of people that you admire, and why you admire them. For example, you might admire Patch Adams for choosing to step out of the traditional role of medicine and creating new ways of healing and connecting with his patients while also having fun. You might admire the band Green Day for living out loud and on purpose, creating the music that they love and speaking their minds. You might admire Oprah Winfrey for choosing to reveal her truth, at a time when concealing is the norm. Name as many as you can think of. When you're done, look at the list and know that what you appreciate about others, is also in you. You are attracted to these qualities, because they speak to you, and they speak to you, because they are a part of your path. If this was your list, Stepping out of the box, telling the truth, and living out loud would be action steps that would take you toward your purpose. Adopt these admirations of others as a way for you to show up in the world. These are your actions.
  • Make a list of the things you do naturally without even thinking about it. (You may want to ask others for feedback, as it's common for them to see talents in us that we don't see ourselves) Such natural talents may be: an eye for detail, a great sense of humor, a nurturing side, the ability to focus intently, or being playful. (Consider also, the things you've done that have gotten you into trouble--oftentimes if you turn them around and look at the positive aspects of it, you'll find a gem of a natural talent that you previously hadn't appreciated) These are your genius. Genius comes easily and profoundly, without needing to expend a lot of energy. Some people are geniuses at math or music; but there are lots of other types of genius as well. There are genius mothers, genius teachers, genius listeners, and genius independent thinkers. We are meant to use our genius in service of our Life Purpose.
  • Look at your Passions, Actions, and Genius lists, and spend 10 minutes each morning doing something from one of the lists. Draw, sing, dance, tell the truth about something you've been concealing, organize a drawer, thank someone you've been appreciating silently, take a risk and call that girl.
  • Notice how you feel. By definition, if you're living your life purpose, you'll feel exhilarated, excited, happy, and alive. If you're not feeling these things, go back to your lists, and see if there's anything you forgot to write down, or do the one you've been avoiding because it's so scary.
  • Feel your fear and do it anyway! It's normal and natural to feel scared when stepping into your life purpose. Fritz Perls said, "Fear is really just excitement without the breath." So, keep breathing, and take the next step. If it's worth doing, you're probably going to feel a little scared doing it. Just think of the fear as the energy you need to take the next step.

Tips

  • Look at ways to incorporate your Passions, Actions, and Genius more and more into your life. As you do, your life purpose will begin to unfold. Could you bring your attention to detail into your job? How about spending your lunch hour writing an article teaching someone else how to do something you love to do?
  • As you increase the amount of time spent fulfilling your life's purpose, you'll notice it's easy to make decisions in life as you ask the question "Does this opportunity fit in with my passions, actions, and genius?" Over time, you'll spend more and more of your days living your life's purpose, and you'll feel happier and healthier than ever before.
  • We often look at our Purpose as a way to answer everything right now or something that can only be fulfilled way into the Future. While one's life purpose may ultimately be fulfilled far into the future, find ways to start NOW: is it a side project, is it one of many aspects of your current job, can your purpose be expressed in the way you interact with current relationships.
  • Keep in mind that often times, we find our purpose along the way. It is often stated after one's life has ended that they had a purpose, based on the events and choices of one's life.

Is total transparency good?

*** an interesting article by someone ***

I'm finally catching up on some backed up reading, including a month-old Wired magazine with the titillating cover story "Get Naked!".No, it's not what you think. The main story and some ancillary ones are about corporations who become totally transparent (naked) in relation to their staff, their board, their customers and their stockholders. Well worth the read. It's issue 15.04.

The stories range from coming out a bit, to total transparency and the resulting benefits. All of this led to some long discussions with people I respect, and some careful thoughts about this concept.

I've long advocated sharing much, much more information internally, including all of your financials with all of your staff (unless you have a union). I've told dozens of clients to share their draft strategic plan with their community. I tell everyone to post a link to their current 990 and most recent audit on the first page of their website.

But share everything? Nah. As a former ED, I can tell you that sharing MOST of my thoughts got me in trouble at times. Imagine this: income is down, you are thinking about a long term restructuring, and you muse about this in your blog. The action is 10-15% likely and perhaps a year away. EVERYONE, and I mean EVERY ONE on the staff will immediately assume that they will lose their job in the next 37 minutes. Same for the people you serve.

Some stuff you just have to keep to yourself. In one article, a CEO blogged and dissed his peers and some subordinates. Ohhh, bad idea. Have your dissing face to face, and keep the arguments inside the family. And, think of the HR implications!Bottom line for me: sharing--good. Lots of sharing--better. Financial transparency--essential.Get naked? Could get ugly. Fast.

Paradigm Shift - Inspired by an cookie ad..

Imagine you are at an Airport or at an Railway Starion. While you're waiting for your flight or train, you notice a kiosk selling cookies. You buy a box, put them in your traveling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies. Finally, you find a seat next to a gentleman.

You reach down into your traveling bag and pull out your box of cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely. He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it! You're more than a little surprised at this. Actually, you're at a loss for words. Not only does he take one cookie, but also he alternates with you. For every one cookie you take, he takes one.

Now, what's your immediate impression of this guy? Crazy? Greedy? He's got some nerve? Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this man to your associates back at the office? Meanwhile, you both continue eating the cookies until there's just one left. To your surprise, the man reaches over and takes it. But then he does something unexpected. He breaks it in half, and gives half to you. After he's finished with his half he gets up, and without a word, he leaves.

You think to yourself, "Did this really happen?" You're left sitting there dumbfounded and still hungry. So you go back to the kiosk and buy another box of cookies. You then return to your seat and begin Opening your new box of cookies when you glance down into your traveling bag. Sitting there in your bag is your original box of cookies – still unopened.

Only then do you realize that when you reached down earlier, you had reached into the other man's bag, and grabbed his box of cookies by mistake. Now what do you think of the man? Generous? Tolerant? You've just experienced a profound paradigm shift. You're seeing things from a new point of view. Is it time to change your point of view?

Many a times, we are clouded by our own instincts and predispositions. These hamper our relationship with our peers, subordinates and superiors. Let-us Try to be non-judgmental and look beyond the obvious.

A Kindof Quote !!!

The universe is not hostile, nor yet is it friendly. It is simply indifferent. — John Hughes Holmes
This reminds me of the Balboa saying to his kid: " The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your kneesand keep you there permanently if you let it. But it ain't how hard you hit, its about how hard u can get hit and still keep moving forward. THAT'S HOW WINNING IS DONE "

You can win - If you think you can !!!

You will be what you will to be;
Let failure find its false content
in that poor word, "environment,"
But spirit scorns it, and is free.

It masters time, it conquers space;
It cows that boastful trickster, Chance,
And bids the tyrant Circumstance
Uncrown, and fill a servant's place.

The human Will, that force unseen,
The offspring fo deathless soul,
Can hew a way to any goal,
Though walls of granite intervene.

Be not impatient in delay,
But wait as one who understands;
When spirit rises and commands,
The gods are ready to obey.

From the book As a Man Thinketh by James Allen.
